Okay I'm torn. My favorite contemporary book I've read in many years is a gentleman in Moscow. It's written with this charm and joy juxtaposed with revolution, communism and famine. But also one of the reasons I loved it so much was because I read Anna Karenina. That book is obviously a masterpiece, but it's 800 pages. You can't go wrong with either of these.

I love Rebecca by Daphne DuMaurier not at all what I was expecting! Also Wuthering Heights and the Picture of Dorian Gray. Both have a dark atmosphere and morally grey characters which gives you a lot to think about. Also I don't always go for the classic happy endings.

Have you ever tried reading comic books or graphic novels because there are some good ones out there to read, there's even a graphic novel of the Bible called the Action Bible.

I recommend the Bible brother, God's word will change your life in a good way. Edit, should have watched the video before I commented because he is a Christian.

As a Stephen king fan, I’m assuming you’ve read The Shining, which is my favorite book. Besides that it would be fiction: The Martian, non-fiction: The Comfort Crisis

What a great idea this is! I love that even if people didn't have a book to recommend or weren't readers, they still responded to you and/or your sign! Also, it's a great lesson in rejection! Great way to face the fear of rejection for some people 😂

My only problem would be deciding which book to recommend there are so many I love. Like if you like anime I would recommend Annette Marie, specifically start with three mages and a margarita. It’s like a well written adult urban fantasy with FairyTail (the anime) Vibes. It’s pretty funny too. A normal human accidentally becomes the bartender for a secret magical guild, who has their guild house in the bar. Little Thieves by Margaret Owen is also a really amazing fantasy. It kind of combines classic fairy tale vibes, but original fairy tales that match up with the main story. A whole new mythology, tons of twists. It’s just a lot of fun. When we were lost by Kevin Wignal is a survivalist story, a group of kids crash land in the forest, very much giving ‘Lost’ vibes. I don’t know why this one is such a comfort read, but I’ve listened to its audiobook several times. The Testing by Joelle Charbonneou is also a really good future dystopian story. Basically the members of outer communities have to go through a series of trials in order to get into the main cities university and discover what they are going to do with their life. If you want a more summer romance I would suggest Emily Henry, recently I read ‘Happy Place’ by her and it was really fun. More than the romcom elements though I absolutely adored the depth of all of the different characters relationships. Romance but also friendships, and family. Every character had depth, and there are very few standalone novels that can make the same claim. And from when I was a kid pretty much anything from Rich Riordan or Tamora Pierce

I want to be able read diff genre, but then I just can’t get into them. I’m def horror thrillersish reader so love how you can read all genres!

I LOVE Count of Monte Cristo! I have read much of Ayn Rand, including Anthem and The Fountainhead but my favorite of hers is actually a shorter story We the Living. Ps dont ge afraid of Sanderson's Cosmere universe, its so fun and easy to read. Way of Kings is EPIC and the character and world building is just top tier.

I bought the lord of the rings book a few weeks ago. I want to read it, I really want to read it. And it is so huge. My god. And I also bought Sherlock Holmes complete collection (volume 1 and 2). I am afraid to read them too. And yeah.... classic books, they freak me out

The Murderbot Diaries series by Martha Wells. Sci-Fi. Explores themes of capitalism, sense of self and autonomy. Dialogue is funny and sarcastic yet strangely wholesome. With the addition of some exciting action thrown in. The series starts slow as everything gets set up, but It’s my current all time favourite.

The hobbit is my favorite book. But Micheal Crichton is my favorite author, his books are phenomenal. I don’t know that I count Jurassic park as a horror book at all, but it’s SO GOOD. I’ve never seen the movies 😅

I WISH my husband would even read a book!! Tessa Dare or Lisa Kleypas he listened to on a long road trip&he actually enjoyed it.
